651 Lab had the privilege of helping the Association of Minnesota Chinese Physicians (AMCP) share their fantastic story with the Minnesota community via earned media.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, medical facilities throughout Minnesota and the United States have been running low on personal protective equipment supplies. In an effort to be creative and find ways to support as much as possible, AMCP and Minnesota Chinese-American families used their connections in China to import additional supplies.
Volunteers have been working ten-hour shifts to purchase and import PPE’s from China, screening hundreds of manufacturers to verify certifications, quality control, shipping logistics, and navigating U.S. Customs requirements. Once on U.S. soil, numerous local Chinese-Americans have volunteered to deliver the donated items to over ten medical facilities throughout Minnesota.
AMCP and the Minnesota Chinese-American community have donated over 75,000 masks, face shields, and isolation gowns to local medical facilities in Minnesota to support the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.
“We are extremely grateful for 651 Lab’s work to help show how Chinese-Americans are part of the solution to help fight this pandemic. 651 Lab’s efforts and media relationships were invaluable in being able to tell our story,” says Dr. Laura Li, AMCP president, and physician at the University of Minnesota Health System.
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with AMCP and the Chinese-American community.
